‘TURN THE PAGE’ CONCERT

Music has always been a resource for me.

It kept me grounded when I was a child, dealing with complex trauma. It has also become a therapeutic outlet for me as I’ve begun to heal… and I hope that my music will, in turn, become an anchor and hope for others.

‘Turn the Page’ EP is the result of processing my trauma in therapy for the last 3 years. I started therapy just before the pandemic and had it not been for Kinergy (a specialist counselling agency offering support for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence), I most likely would not have been able to continue.

The fact that Kinergy is a charity is the reason I was able to get help so that I could begin my journey of healing. Each week, after my therapy session, I would try to donate some money towards the charity but there were weeks when I was unable to give even a penny. For someone who struggles to ask for help and then receive that help, it was incredibly humbling.

Kinergy was a life-line for me. They provide trauma informed counselling, group therapy and a support group for survivors and their family / friends / partner, and they support all genders.

While learning about myself through my therapy sessions, I turned to music to express my heartache and pain. I collaborated with my incredibly talented friend, producer and co-writer, Aron Bicskey, to create a collection of songs that I am exceptionally proud of.

As I’ve begun to heal, it is my desire to give something back. This is the reason I decided to dedicate my EP launch on the 1st April 2023 to Kinergy. The night will be an opportunity to raise funds for their incredible work with the aim of helping other trauma survivors to receive the counselling that they need in order to begin to heal and find freedom once again.

I will be performing with a live band. I will also be supported by the incredible Fabio D'Andrea, an award-winning and highly acclaimed neo-classical pianist and short film director.

Fabio is responsible for the deeply moving video 'Love Should Not Hurt featuring Mel B' which was made in support of Women's Aid.

There will be an auction on the night, kindly donated by my generous friend Ralu (Ralu Chase Photography), for a half-day family photoshoot* with digital downloads. All profits of the auction will go to Kinergy. There will also be other opportunities to donate to the charity.
